New Release...coming soon

This November will see the release of some new music and sound in the form of:
Station Wagon Interior Perspective (A Requiem for John Fahey).

This is my first full-band recording since 'Robert Stillman's Horses', and features an ensemble called the Archaic Future Players, comprised of Jeremy Udden (c-melody saxophone), Kenny Warren (trumpet), Dave Noyes (trombone), Ben Stapp (tuba), and me on Fender Rhodes and drums.

The 20-minute, four-movement suite was originally composed for a concert at The Stone (NYC) in January, 2010 as part of a program there curated by Matana Roberts. The music was inspired by a black and white photo of Fahey behind the wheel of his station wagon, and the music is an attempt to reach out musically to that wild, heroic, bearded wise-man that I'll never get to meet.

The recording was begun at Vanity Sound in Brooklyn, NY by Tyler Wood (Glass Ghost, Joan as Policewoman), and then given  the full 'treatment' over the course of the next year.

"Station Wagon Interior Perspective" will be released in a limited edition of 100 vinyl 10-inch EP's by Apohadion Records, with hand-screened album artwork. Download and hand-screened gatefold CD ecopack versions will be released by Archaic Future recordings, with bonus tracks 'Requiem for JF" and "NR Rag".
